European Association of Firefighter Psychology

association

Our association is an international scientific network. Its purpose is to pool knowledge in the area of psychology applied to fire and rescue services.


It is open to psychologists of all specialties (organizational, social, clinical, neuropsychology, etc.), but also to firefighters, rescue workers, emergency medical technicians, doctors, psychiatrists, nurses, prevention advisors, social and associative actors, researchers, students, whether they come from civil security or professional risk organizations or are also interested in human factors in emergency settings, and more specifically fire rescue.


This network aims for the best possible understanding of psychology in emergency and disaster situations through the sharing of experiences, research and training. Our object of study is the psychology of first responders in the exercise of their missions.

  • 2003

     
     
    Brussels.
    Creation of the European Association of Fire & Rescue Psychologists (EAFRP) and elaboration of the founding principles by Erik De Soir around a group of Belgian and French psychologists.
  • Election of the founding office and procedures for recognizing the existence of associations in law.

    2004

    First board of directors, creation of association statutes and appointment of the members of the board of directors.
    Organisation des 5ème journées scientifiques de l'AEPSP au SDIS69 (Vénissieux) Organization of the 5th scientific days of the AEPSP/EAFRP at SDIS69 (Vénissieux) Headquarters installed within the Maison des Sapeurs-Pompiers de France in Paris.
  • Registration with INSEE and declaration of the AEPSP/EAFRP in the prefecture of Paris.
    Organization of the 6th and 7th scientific days in Marseille & Paris. 1st publications in the name of the association, "blue collar" magazine.

    Organization of the 8th scientific days at SDIS59 (Villeneuve d'Ascq).
    Declaration by the AEPSP/EAFRP as a training provider Organization Open to non-French-speaking countries including a training mission in Hungary.
  • First official participation of AEPSP/EAFRP members in congresses (ALFEST, AFORCUMP, FNSPF)

    Organization of the 11th scientific days at SDIS42 (Saint Etienne)
  • Requalification of the AEPSP/EAFRP in European Association of Fire Rescue Psychology.
    New turnover and organization of the 12th scientific days in Bordeaux. Creation of the training mission, the scientific communication mission and the first website.

    Participation in the national working group HEALTH SAFETY PREVENTION (FNSPF & MNSP) for the prevention and support of suicidal behavior
    Training mission in Bolivia & Participation in JNISP in Lyon.
  • Organization of the 13th scientific days in the format "Firefighters and Psychology Days".
    Multiple participants (SPS, officers, ISP, MSP and PsySP) and nationalities (France, Andorra, Belgium)

    Opening to non-European countries (training in Algeria and Moldova)

    Participation in the expo relief conference in Paris and in the health relief conference in Nîmes.
    Validation of the ENSOSP SIMURGe and AEPSP partnership for training related to psychology. Participation in the REAC / RAC working groups for the writing of national recommendations for French SDIS for the activity of psychologists. Co-organization of Emergency and Psychology Responder Days (Belgium)
  • Participation in the expo relief conference(Paris) and the 2016 Health Forum (La Rochelle).
    Organization of the 18th JSPP at SDIS43 (Puy en Velay) and participation in the JNISP congress (Arcachon).

    Participation in the health relief conference in Vannes and participation in the symposium of the psychological support system of the National Gendarmerie.
    European mission: psychological care for French nationals affected by the London bombing, followed by remote supervision and training of the teams working within the clinic.
  • Organization of the members seminar on the theme "Working in SSSM: legal constraints and good practices for psychologists"
    Creation of a new website Partnership with the SDIS68 for the dissemination and educational exploitation of the film “the day when”. Participation in the SSSM University Days (doctors, pharmacists, veterinarians) - Bordeaux (France) Participation in the ideal knowledge network web conference - “contribution of SSSM psychologists to the PSR approach” Participation in the APPIH Jurbise congress (Belgium)

The board of directors of our association consists of eleven people including a president, two vice-presidents, a treasurer, a secretary as well as project managers.
